- Is it specific software for radio production 24/7 ? (SAM Broadcast, Traktor 3.4, MixMeister, Bsi, Pioneer Djs1.6, Ableton Live v.7)
- License or expense involved?

We already got;
-Dj mixer Pioneer and CD player for live Dj.
-PC (s).
-Microphones.
-External dbx Digital Multi-processor, Furman compressor, BBE process,
-Amplifiers and speaker monitoring
-Fast Internet connection.
-Recording equipment.

- The 3 PCs are rack mountable (base on server case) able to run 24/7 (one for the main production, the other 2 for post-production and recording)

Heya. I’m a huge dubstep/drum and bass fan and I really want to get into mixing. I’m pretty computer savvy and I have actually started making some dubstep and house through FL Studio. I’ve been playing around in Traktor and I’ve realized that its pretty difficult to get much done without a controller. So ultimately, what I’d like to know is what equipment should I invest in to get started? Do I need an external sound card, and what is it used for?

I have an iMac with an intel i3 3.06 GHz, 4G of ram and everything else stock. Any info or advice would be appreciated. I’ve also been considering getting a Hercules DJ Control Steel mix table.
